Being an athlete myself, I love it when I get the opportunity to report on the Bruin sports going on at St. Joe. I love getting to display the hard work of all of our athletes as they put their all into what they love. The truth of the matter is, if we did not take the time to report these whole sports teams or individual athletes, then this hard work would go unseen. As part of the journalism staff, I feel it is my responsibility to showcase our athletes. While I don’t do sports stories as often as news stories, I still have had my fair share of them. All my stories below have appeared in the weekly production of Bruin News Now.

In this sports story, I provide a detailed recap of the boy's soccer state championship, highlighting their journey to state. Throughout the narrative, I illuminate their year-long accomplishments.

I took a look at how the dance team prepares for FNL.

This story was a finalist in the at the spring 2021 MSPA conference.

SPORTS EDITING

Last year I took on the role of editing the sports cast of each of our weekly newscasts. This was good for me because through this I was able to learn how to edit quickly, and professionally, as well as advancing my skills. I have been able to take all the editing skills I have learned through sports editing and translate them into the creative projects that I enjoy producing such as IMC videos and news, sports, and feature stories.
